Critical Correspondence is seeking interns!

The Internship consists of approximately 10hrs/week time commitment (might be distributed unevenly depending on season and needs) in exchange for free classes at Movement Research (MR), some free or discounted workshops when available, and occasional free tickets to events.

The Internship may start as soon as July, but definitely by August (see requirements below), and can run for six months or the entire fiscal year (ending June 30th). Past interns have stayed for the full year. Read more for more info!

Tasks involved:
1. Participating in editorial meetings and discussing current and future content on the site.
2. Using a newsletter publication program (Constant Contact) to periodically reach readership with CC news.
3. Writing entries on MR’s Blog about new CC content.
4.  Coordinating Artists Conversations (requesting space, setting up conference call, picking up equipment from MR).
5. Transcribing and editing Artists Conversations.
6. Preparing audio content for MR’s podcast.
7. Uploading content to site (WordPress) and general site maintenance (clean spam; keep links, staff list, and featured video current).
8. Following up with guest writers and other projects.
9. Helping keep CC abreast of events and publications related to its mission.
10.    Participating in and possibly initiating projects.

Ideal candidate skills and interests:
1. An interest in engaging contemporary and experimental dance and/or performance work through language;
2. Familiarity with web platforms;
3. Writing and editing skills;
4. Interviewing skills;
5. Ability to work independently and finish tasks on time;
6. Audio and video editing skills also greatly appreciated but not required; and
7. Investment in the mission and goals of the publication.

1. Approximately a fourth of the time, you will need to work from the MR office to access PC equipment and work on podcasts. Most of the time, however, we all work remotely from our own computers.
2. You must have a computer that you’re willing to work with for the internship.
3. We will do an intensive technical training in August to introduce the programs and platforms we work with.
4. If you start in July, you would help with the migration of content from old site to the new WordPress site (which integrates CC into the new MR site).
