GPS Program in Poland

HadarAhuvia_AndreZachary_MaryaWethers_2016Through the GPS/Global Practice Sharing program, Movement Research Director of International Initiatives, Marýa Wethers, along with 2015 MR AIRS Hadar Ahuvia and André Zachery, attended the Stary Browar Nowy Taniec Na Malcie (Old Brewery New Dance at Malta) festival of contemporary dance in Poznań, Poland. The SBNT festival is curated by Joanna Lesnierowska of Art Stations Foundation and held during the annual Malta Festival Poznań.

We had the opportunity to attend performances each day by artists from Poland and internationally, with offerings in contemporary dance, performance art, theater and film. In addition there were daily warm-up sessions led by festival artists as well as other workshops. Following the SBNT festival, André and Hadar had the opportunity to participate in the Alternative Dance Academy workshop taught by Andrew Moorish.

Upcoming 2016 GPS projects in partnership with Art Stations Foundation include a two-week research residency in NYC for two Polish artists during the Movement Research Fall Festival.
