This evening’s Yackez performance features their beloved mascot YackMan (Liliana Dirks-Goodnam), the wrestling post-modernist dance ensemble, Star Crap Dancers (Tyler Ashley, Laurie Berg, Lillie DeArmon, Sarah Holcman) and the XpressYou! Dancers, (Victoria Brooks, Socorro DeJesus, Dorothea Snyder and Bonny Yarry)– Larissa’s older adult dance-aerobics troupe hailing from uptown Manhattan. Our program redefines “family-friendly entertainment” by cross-sectioning wildly different communities of people who dance.
This work was made possible, in part, through the Movement Research Artist-in-Residence Program, funded, in part, by the Davis/Dauray Family Fund and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
