MELT Intensives are a series of daily workshops in technique, somatics, improvisation, composition and other areas offered each summer (5 weeks) and winter (3 weeks).Taught by Movement Research’s internationally recognized faculty as well as acclaimed guest artists, these workshops provide students with the unique opportunity to engage with some of the most highly regarded an innovative artists in the field of dance today.


Frances Alenikoff (1920–2012):
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Alenikoff, celebrated artist and owner and founder of Eden’s Expressway. Frances passed away peacefully in Southampton Hospital after a last visit from her daughter Francesca Rheannon, grandson, and great-granddaughter.
The Movement Research staff is enormously grateful to Frances Alenikoff for her continuing belief in the mission of Movement Research. We will miss her and her spirited example of what lifelong artistry is.

This Week at Movement Research…Celebrate Frances Alenikoff’s 90th Birthday and the 20th Anniversary of the Performance Journal!!!!

Monday September 27. Movement Research Celebrates!
Join us at Judson Memorial Church to celebrate the 90th birthday of Frances Alenikoff, artist and founder of Eden’s Expressway, and the 20th anniversary of the Performance Journal, as well as the release of PJ#37!

6:30pm Reception
to attend the reception, please make a donation by following this link:

8pm Performances doors open at 7:45
Performances by Ze’eva Cohen, Deborah Jowitt, Jennifer Monson & Yvonne Meier, Tere O’Connor Dance, Wendy Perron, Regina Rocke, and Judith Sanchez Ruiz!

All proceeds from the event, including $ from Donor Reception and pass-the-hat, go towards supporting the future publication of the Performance Journal.
