Research presentation – Jump with me!

The last couple of weeks I have started research on jumping. I have been structuring a practice through which I will investigate relations through the action of jumping. It is a preparation for the upcoming production ‘Jump with me!’ a work that will be made for 4 dancers.
Tonight I am alone and I will jump a collection of poems for you.

The title personas of ANNE and JAMES are loosely drawn portraits of poet Anne Sexton and actor James Dean. The cycle distills emotion and realizes, through movement a poetic sensibility related to how we deal with love, tragedy, and hope. The cycle contains 5 works in 3 chaptersdeveloped and presented in 2013 and 2014 at The University Of Florida, Joe’s Pub, Gowanus Arts Project, Dixon Place Dance, Triskelion Arts and Roulette Brooklyn.
