SUNDAY PROCESS LAB with JOANNA KOTZE AND SHELLEY SENTER
March 30 SUN 5-8pm $5
Eden’s Expressway, 537 Broadway
Joanna Kotze and Shelley Senter will come together to share their ideas, practices and processes in this collaborative lab. Joanna delves into the design of the body and its potential within any given moment, looking at the forces through the legs to access a wide range of movement, challenging habits and discovering new performance possibilities. Shelley’s interests include critiquing sensation, spatial support, looking at movement as behavior as well as architecture, and addressing un/sub/consciousness, particularly in “the use of the eyes (notice I did not say ‘gaze.’)” Through both movement and dialogue, Joanna and Shelley will exchange information with you and each other about how movement, specificity and potential in the body play important roles in their teaching and creative process.

SUNDAY PROCESS LAB with VANESSA ANSPAUGH
March 16 SUN 5-8pm $5
Eden’s Expressway, 537 Broadway
Archiving the present
This workshop considers movement-based performance as a tool for broadening ones own artistic practice. Starting from “now” we will explore the myriad understandings of presence. We will look to the sensorial, relational, personal, political, seasonal, annual etc. to uncover the layers of what constitutes “this moment.” Bringing the outside in and the inside out we will make a piece together in 3 hours. We will construct, compose, dismantle and play, coating layer upon layer to investigate the idea of “dance as a document” of our time spent together.

Performers: Gabriel Forestieri, Troy Ogilvie, Paul Singh
Legacies are always stifling, Judson is no different. We are all shaped by so many unseen forces and there seem to be few escapes from the past. A lifetime of influences are inside any action just as a body is a record of every movement it has made. We practice relating and including with you, the church, and each other as a guide to move beyond what we have been and reach into what we could be.

As the Choreographer/Director of projectLIMB Gabriel Forestieri is deeply engaged with including the world in his art. ProjectLIMB has performed in Hawaii, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Washington D.C., Paris, Rome, San Francisco, Thailand, and New York City. ProjectLIMB’s work has been presented in NYC at DTW, The Tank, Teaneck Creek Conservancy, QCA Solar One, Central Park, BAX, White Wave, The Puffin Room, and Symphony Space. ProjectLIMB has been involved with numerous residences including the AIR at Earthdance, Solar One Dance Res, Art Mill in Jeffersonville NY, SEEDS at Earthdance, DTW’s Outer/Space, The Wave Rising Festival, in Hawaii at the Ulua Theatre, and at Art Omi. He was a founding company member in 2011 of the NYC mounting of Sleep No More, the Off Broadway sensation.
