MRX/UC Irvine present a FREE film screening and workshop in the Active Space technology. This free series of events will take place at the Baryshnikov Arts Center’s Howard Gilman Performance Space. The film screening features the work of UC Irvine’s award-winning faculty and students, as well as information on their MFA Program. The workshop portion will consist of a warm-up class based in dance techniques and improvisations, and then the chance to interact with the Active Space environment. An improvisation project curated by Meg Stuart in which a cast of performers, theoreticians, musicians, and designers meets at an oversized conference table, which becomes a platform for action and discussion. With Trajal Harrell, Keith Hennessy, Janez Jansa, Jean-Paul Lespagnard, Jan Maertens, Yvonne Meier, Anja Müller, Vania Rovisco, Hahn Rowe, George Emilio Sanchez, Meg Stuart, and David Thomson.
