Featuring works by Launch Movement Experiment, Katie Workum, and Tina Croll and Company.

This study was created and performed by dance artists Rachel Mckinstry, Kendra Portier, Liz Riga, Alli Ruszkowski and musician/vocalist/producer/remixer, Fade Kainer.

Launch Movement Experiment was formed in NYC in 2005 by Rachel Mckinstry and Liz Riga. Launch’s work has been presented in NYC at Dance New Amsterdam as a part of the Object*Object Series, Movement Research at the Judson Memorial Church (2007), Dance Theater Workshop, Tisch School of the Arts, University Settlement, Galapagos Arts Space, Triskelion Arts, Snapshot Series @ Bar 13, Solace Bar/Lounge, rooftops and warehouses. Launch has received funding from the Brooklyn Arts Council and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.,

This section is a composite of new and newer experiments inside a full-length piece in progress called Herkimer Diamonds.

Katie Workum is a choreographer, dancer and actor living in New York City. She has shown work at DTW, DNA, Dixon Place, The Joyce, PS122, The Flea and more places in and out of the city and country. She is also one third of the ladyperformanceband Dirty Power with Weena Pauly and Katy Pyle. Katie has had the honor of working as a performer for Young Jean Lee, Ivy Baldwin, David Neumann, Stacy Dawson, Will Rawls, and Jenny Seastone Stern. Last year she received her Masters in Dance Education at NYU and had a baby named Willa. Both she and the diploma are wicked cute.

Tina Croll graduated from Bennington College and was a founding member of Dance Theater Workshop, performed with Judith Dunn, Jeff Duncan, Jack Moore and Jamie Cunningham amongst others. In 1970, established Tina Croll + Company performing in New York City and on tour. After a period in India and Europe, she moved to the west coast. Returning to New York City in 1993, she has been performing her work at Danspace Project, DTW, P.S. 122, The Kitchen, The Duke on 42nd St., The Kaye Playhouse. Recent evening-length productions at Danspace Project include Ancient Springs with a cast of 20 dancers and Balkan Dreams, a collaboration with Zlatne Uste a twelve piece Balkan Brass Band. Other collaborations include an improvisation group, “the Gang of Four,” with Wendy Perron, Douglas Dunn, and Kenneth King. Ms. Croll and Jamie Cunningham continue to perform their ongoing project From the Horse’s Mouth, produced for the past 12 years in the US and Canada in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, Miami, Philadelphia, Boston and Toronto, as well as Jacob’s Pillow and the American Dance Festival. Ms. Croll is the recipient of grants from the NEA, NYSCA, Harkness Foundation, DTW, Bennington College, Schwab Fdn. and other organizations.
