Tahni Holt is a choreographer and performer based in Portland, OR. She is interested in body as cultural symbol, dance as brand identity, space as locator or non-locator. Her work has been presented at On The Boards and Bumbershoot (Seattle), PICA’s TBA Festival (Portland) and Fusebox Festival (Austin), as well as far off places in France, Alaska, Idaho, and Georgia. Recently she spent time in Europe where she performed in Vienna at Impulstanz through Eszter Salamon and Christine De Smedt’s TRANSFORMERS and went to Greece for a residency with Elizabeth Ward. Tahni, along with Noelle Stiles, Danielle Ross and Robert Tyree, is making a-first-ever-of-its-kind in Portland dance newspaper. FRONT relies on the old-school tactics of the newspaper infused with new, current, future energy of dance theory and practices in the field.

Music and Composition Performance: Will Brant

Shayna Keller, Samantha Sherman, Brittany Delany, and Sarah Ashkin began their collaborative work in 2005 as students at Wesleyan University. They use an integrative approach to their compositional research, including rigorous exploration of site, experiential anatomy, and ensemble improvisation. Their last evening length work “Weathering” was created and performed at Indian Cove Amphitheater at Joshua Tree National Park in California. They have recently performed at CounterPULSE in San Francisco and Anatomy Riot in Los Angeles. They are extremely grateful for the opportunity to perform here tonight.

Choreography: Jeremy Olson
Performers: Jeremy Olson and Maria Totten
Script: Jeremy Olson
Special thanks to Ritual and Research

Jeremy Olson is currently working with David Neumann on a show opening in March at New York Live Arts. Jeremy has also performed with Polly Motley, the Trisha Brown Dance Company, Lindsey Dietz-Marchant, Melinda Ring, Faye Driscoll, Palissimo, and others in New York City. His installation, 60Hz Telescope, will be on display at sites across NYC this summer. Jeremy is a 2011 Fellow in Digital/Electronic Arts from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Maria Totten genuinely thanks you for supporting new works and thinks you are all pretty neat people to seek them out.  She loves to dance and act and play, and has been hugely fortunate to get paid to do so now and then. She hopes you enjoy this kooky world we live in as much as she does.
